There are a growing number of reports across the web of Google Advertisements accounts supervisors threatening to get in touch with clients straight, in spite of not being enabled to.
According to the reports, companies who do not respond to e-mails from Google Advertisements account managers are being met with hazards from Google reps to get in touch with customers directly.
Sometimes, the Google Advertisements account managers call customers and tell them to drop their firms.
There are 2 things to make clear here:
- Agencies are not required to talk with Google reps
- At no point needs to a Google Ads account manager call a company’s client
A Google Advertisements representative telling clients to fire their firm crosses the line.
However, these reports are becoming more frequent.
Matt Janaway, CEO of Marketing Labs, shared his experience on LinkedIn today:

Throughout October, reports flowed on Reddit of Google reps participating in similar practices. One Reddit user posted a screenshot of an e-mail received by a Google Ads Account
Strategist, which checks out: “I am writing to you one last time as a courtesy, because my sincere objective is to supply you
value and innovative methods with google advertisements and work with you carefully, to assist you save time and make your clients more successful with google advertisements, therefore I am calling you for the last time to inform you that if I do not reach you, I will presume that you are not getting my emails and will get in touch with the customers that I have actually been assigned directly.”Another Reddit user has almost the same story, stating they
have actually been “bugged”with daily emails from a Google Ads representative to get on a call and implement campaign changes. Once again, agencies aren’t bound to speak to Google representatives or execute changes customers aren’t asking for. Need to you receive an e-mail like the one above, the very best thing to do is submit a grievance through
Google’s main kind. Beware of these aggressive sales techniques. As long as you’re not breaking any policies, Google has no say over
